Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about how we work, what things cost, and what we do not do.
Are you truly independent from telecoms suppliers?
Yes. We do not resell lines, minutes, handsets or platforms, and we accept no commissions, dealer bonuses or success fees from vendors. If a supplier offers us money tied to your decision, it is declined in writing or credited back to you. Our only revenue is the fees published on this site.
What is the £120 Communications Audit, exactly?
A structured review of every telecoms service your business pays for: broadband lines, mobile SIMs, SIM-in-router data, legacy phone lines and any add-ons. We map contracts and end dates, test tariff fit against actual usage, and deliver a written findings pack with a costed savings list plus a 45-minute walkthrough call. Delivery is 5 working days from receiving your bills and contract documents.
Will I have to change suppliers?
Not necessarily. Around a third of our findings are fixed without switching: retariffing, removing dormant services, correcting billing errors or renegotiating with your existing supplier at renewal. Where switching genuinely is the better answer, the audit gives you the numbers to decide with confidence.
What happens to my phone lines when the analogue network closes?
The traditional PSTN is being retired, so analogue lines and ISDN services must move to voice over broadband. The practical risk is not the phone itself but the things hanging off the line: alarm panels, door entry, fax, payment terminals and lift phones. Our VoIP Readiness Assessment (£165 per site) inventories all of it and produces a migration plan with dates, fallbacks and costs.
How long does a typical engagement take?
Audit: 5 working days once we have your documents. VoIP Assessment: about 2 weeks. Vendor Selection & Migration: typically 4–8 weeks end to end, depending on tender size and carrier lead times. The retainer runs monthly and you can stop it with one month’s notice.
Do you work with businesses outside the UK?
Our advice covers UK carriers and the UK regulatory environment, where we are strongest. We can advise UK-registered businesses on their overseas sites’ connectivity sourcing at a distance, but we say plainly when a local partner would serve you better.
How do you charge, and when?
Audit and Assessment fees are payable on engagement, by bank transfer or card. Retainer is billed monthly in advance. Vendor Selection projects are quoted as a fixed price after the free discovery call, invoiced at milestones. All fees are in GBP excluding VAT. Cancellation terms are published on our Pricing Information page.
What if the audit finds nothing worth changing?
Then the findings pack says so, and that is a useful result: you keep your current set-up with documented evidence that it is sound. The fee pays for the analysis, not for a predetermined answer. In practice most audits find at least dormant services, billing errors or renewal traps worth fixing.
Are you a limited company?
Yes — Sapphire RH Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 14537434. Full company details appear on our About page and in our terms and privacy documents.
